Israel Admits Beersheba Was Reduced to Rubble in Final Days of War
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Israeli regime’s broadcaster Kan admitted that Beersheba endured an unprecedented week of devastation under Iranian missile fire during the final days of the twelve-day war, exposing Israel’s military and civil vulnerabilities despite its propaganda.
Kan reported that Beersheba, the main city in the Negev, came directly under Iranian missile attacks that overwhelmed Israeli defenses.
The network acknowledged that the strike on the intelligence facility behind Soroka Medical Center revealed “a chronic failure” for Israel’s security establishment.
Beersheba suffered the worst days in its modern history, sustaining three missile barrages in five days.
Officials said reconstruction of the damage will take years and cost billions of dollars, not including the casualties and the thousands who have been left homeless.
One Iranian salvo obliterated seven apartment buildings simultaneously, each containing about 24 units.
Residents described hearing a massive explosion before their neighborhood was completely leveled.
The most intense strike hit minutes before the ceasefire, destroying at least three adjacent six-story buildings.
Kan’s report questioned why none of the missiles were intercepted, noting that only a small number were launched yet all struck their targets with precision.
Finance minister Bezalel Smotrich admitted he was aware of the planned Iranian offensive but confessed that the government did nothing to reinforce Beersheba’s fragile infrastructure.
More than 11,000 Israelis have been displaced by Iran’s direct strikes, exceeding the total number of refugees from the October 7, 2023 conflict.
Due to strict military censorship, Israeli media are banned from publishing casualty figures and can only repeat information approved by the censor’s office, concealing the true scale of the defeat.
