Iran Edges Ukraine in 2025 VNL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran edged past Ukraine 3-2 (28-30, 25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 15-9) in its last match in the first week of the 2025 Volleyball Nations League (VNL) on Sunday.
Poriya Hossein Khanzadeh led Iran with 23 points, and Illia Kovalov earned 21 points for Ukraine.
Iran had lost to Brazil, the US, and Slovenia in its previous matches.
The 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League is the seventh edition of the FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League, an annual men's international volleyball tournament.
The competition is being held from June 11 to August 3, 2025, with the final round to take place at the Beilun Gymnasium in Ningbo, China.
Team Melli will play Serbia, the Netherlands, Germany, and Argentina in Week 2 in Belgrade.
