Iran Military Drills Aimed at Enhancing Defense Capabilities, Deterrence

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri on Thursday issued an order to commence military drills codenamed Eqtedar (Power)-1404.

Major General Baqeri said the purpose of these exercises is to enhance the defensive capabilities and deterrence of the country’s armed forces and to assess their readiness.

These exercises are planned and conducted with changes to the Armed Forces’ annual schedule, focusing on enemy movements.

Iran’s Armed Forces hold routine military exercises throughout the year.

Iranian officials have repeatedly underscored that the country will not hesitate to strengthen its military capabilities, including its missile power, which are entirely meant for defense, and that Iran’s defense capabilities will never be subject to negotiations.
