He expressed hope that the blessings of the holy festival would be reflected in the cooperation and interactions among Islamic nations especially the two brotherly neighbors of Iran and Iraq.
Highlighting the deep historical and cultural bonds between Iran and Iraq, Pezeshkian said, "We regard the Iraqi people as our brothers and will make every effort to promote unity and solidarity among Islamic countries, especially Iran and Iraq, to bring honor and pride to the Muslim Ummah."
Rashid, in response, thanked Pezeshkian for the kind wishes and reciprocated Eid greetings to the Iranian government and people.
He prayed for peace, prosperity, security, and development for the Iranian nation during this blessed occasion.
Describing bilateral relations as being at their best, Rashid emphasized Iraq’s full readiness to strengthen cooperation and coordination with Tehran. He voiced hope that these efforts would lead to mutual achievements and sustainable development for both nations.
Rashid also asked Pezeshkian to convey his warmest congratulations, greetings, and respect to the great people of Iran and to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
In a separate phone call, Pezeshkian also spoke with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani. He conveyed heartfelt Eid al-Adha greetings to the Iraqi government and people, describing the festival as one filled with divine grace, blessings, and God’s mercy.
Pezeshkian expressed hope that the spiritual gifts of the occasion would benefit all Muslim nations, particularly the noble peoples of Iran and Iraq.
He emphasized the role of unity and solidarity in Islamic teachings and said, “The formation of cohesion within the Islamic Ummah, inspired by this elevated occasion, could help create collective resolve to end the crimes of the Zionist regime against the oppressed people of Gaza.”
In turn, al-Sudani thanked Pezeshkian for the thoughtful call and conveyed his own Eid greetings to the Iranian government and nation.
He prayed for blessings, triumph, and prosperity for the Muslim world, especially Iran and Iraq.
Al-Sudani also stressed the importance of Muslim unity in the face of oppression and violence. “I hope, under the blessings of this great Islamic festival, Muslims will stand as one and resist the unrestrained crimes of the Zionist regime,” he stated.
