Close Cooperation with Saudi Arabia A Resolute Policy in Iran: Hajj Official
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The head of the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization of Iran expressed the country’s determination to broaden relations with Saudi Arabia.
In a meeting in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday evening, Alireza Bayat and Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Bin Fawzan al-Rabiah talked about a range of issues about this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.
Pointing to his recent meetings with senior authorities of the kingdom, Bayat said the Iranian officials consider the expansion of cooperation with neighboring and Muslim states, including Saudi Arabia, as a permanent and clear-cut policy.
Appreciating Saudi Arabia for its careful handling of the Hajj event and hosting a huge number of pilgrims, the Iranian official noted that the promotion of Hajj diplomacy and closer interaction between Iran and Saudi Arabia will strengthen their convergence in various fields and help remedy many problems in the Muslim world.
For his part, the Saudi minister said the kingdom is hosting around two million pilgrims in this year’s Hajj season.
Highlighting Saudi Arabia’s efforts to ensure the safety and comfort of all pilgrims, Tawfiq Bin Fawzan al-Rabiah said his country would spare no effort to settle the problems of the Iranian Hajj pilgrims.
