Saudi Arabia Releases 2 Iranians

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two Iranian nationals who had been arrested in Saudi Arabia’s Medina were released on Thursday.

The director general of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran said the two Iranian men, Qassemian and Nadimi, who had been held in custody in Medina, were released in the early hours of Thursday.

Shasti Karimi, who is now in Saudi Arabia, highlighted the Foreign Ministry’s intensive efforts in coordination with the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization of Iran to pursue the fate of the two Iranian citizens.

He stated that the Foreign Ministry spares no effort to support Iranian nationals around the world, noting that Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi paid special attention to this case considering the importance of protection of relations between Tehran and Riyadh.

Shasti Karimi also appreciated the Saudi authorities for their cooperation in the efforts to release the two Iranians.
