Clarence Seedorf Named Esteghlal’s CEO Adviser: Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Dutch football legend Clarence Seedorf has been appointed as an adviser to the CEO of Iran’s Esteghlal Football Club.

The renowned football figure was appointed as the club’s CEO adviser by a decree from Ali Nazari Joybari.

Nazari Joybari stated, “Considering the major plans of the Persian Gulf Holding toward building a great Esteghlal and with the support of the club’s board of directors, especially the honorable chairman, we have been in negotiations with Mr. Seedorf over the past two months to benefit from his expertise in various areas.”

He added, “Seedorf will soon arrive in Tehran. God willing, through collective effort and dedication, we aim to build a great Esteghlal. To achieve success and become truly professional, we need unity, hard work, and international experience. I hope Esteghlal supporters will support us in this journey.”

Seedorf, who played for Ajax, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and AC Milan, converted to Islam to marry Iranian Sophia Makramati.
