Gunmen Attack Vehicle Carrying Ballot Boxes Southeast of Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Unknown gunmen attacked a vehicle carrying the Iranian presidential election’s ballot boxes in the southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan on Friday, killing two people.
The attack targeted the vehicle as it was carrying the boxes from a polling station in the Jakigur rural district of Rask county in Sistan and Balouchestan Province.
Two people in charge of the boxes were martyred in the armed attack, and a number of other personnel were injured.
Iran held a nationwide presidential election on Friday, June 28.
Around 59,000 polling stations were set up across the country, including over 15,000 mobile stations.
Some 800,000 people were involved in the process of election, including the security forces and the Interior Ministry representatives.
