Lavrov to Visit China on April 8-9: Russian Foreign Ministry
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to China on April 8-9, during which he will discuss a number of ‘hot topics,' including Ukraine, with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"On April 8-9, top Russian diplomat Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to the People's Republic of China, within the framework of which negotiations with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi are planned," the ministry said, TASS reported.
"An in-depth exchange of views is planned on a number of topical and regional issues, including the Ukrainian crisis and the situation in the Asia-Pacific region," the ministry added.
Russian diplomats said that the foreign ministers will also discuss bilateral cooperation, including "interaction in the international arena with a focus on joint work in the UN, BRICS, the SCO, the G20, APEC and other multilateral mechanisms and forums."
Lavrov previously visited Beijing in October 2023. The sides discussed in detail the promotion of cooperation in Eurasia and the prospects of Russia's BRICS chairmanship.
