Rocket Attacks Hit Two US Bases in Northeastern Syria: Report

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Two American military bases in Syria's Hasakah province were targeted with rocket shells.

According to Lebanon's al-Mayadeen television network, the Kharab al-Jir Airport and al-Malikiyah base in Hasakah were reportedly struck by multiple rocket shells, as sources revealed on Sunday.

Details regarding the attack's nature and the extent of damages were not provided, with no claims of responsibility from any group or individual emerging thus far.

On December 13, the Iraqi resistance coalition launched drone attacks against US military facilities at the al-Omar oilfield and Conoco gas plant in Syria's eastern province of Deir ez-Zur.

Days later, a Fox News correspondent announced on the X social media platform that US forces had been "attacked for the 100th time" since October 17.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of anti-US groups, has recently targeted many American military locations in Iraq and Syria in protest of Washington's unwavering backing for Israel's ruthless aggression against Palestinians in the beleaguered Gaza Strip.

The attacks come as anti-US sentiment in the region grows in response to Washington's support for the Israeli regime.

Since the beginning of the Gaza war, Israel has been bombarding Gaza, and the United States, Israel's closest ally, has supplied the illegal entity with arms and ammunition.

The US House of Representatives approved a $14.3 billion military aid package for Israel on November 2. The bill, however, has yet to pass the Senate.

Washington has also vetoed UN Security Council resolutions urging the occupying regime to halt its barbaric assault on the besieged Gaza Strip.
