IRGC Drones Capable of Hitting Faraway Vessels with AI
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps said Iran’s homegrown drones that use artificial intelligence can wreck any desired part of a hostile naval target thousands of miles away from the mainland.
Addressing a conference of medical students in Tehran on Wednesday, Major General Hossein Salami said the IRGC has developed advanced AI-powered military drones.
He noted that the UAVs are capable of hitting any desired part of a cruising vessel at a distance of thousands of miles away and even determine the extent of destruction.
The commander also noted that Iran is one of the three countries that has the technical know-how to manufacture ballistic missiles with pinpoint accuracy.
In remarks in August, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said Iran has reached such a high level of expertise in the defense industry that major world powers are willing to acquire its achievements.
The top general said Iran’s numerous achievements and products, including modern, smart and effectual military systems used by the ground, naval, aerial, aerospace, missile, drone and cyber defense units, have elevated the components of the country’s power and strengthened its deterrent power.
