Iran’s Taftian Fails to Win Medal in 100m Final: 2022 Hangzhou
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hassan Taftian of Iran finished in fourth place in the men’s100m of the 2022 Asian Games on Saturday.
Taftian came fourth with a time of 10.14 seconds.
Chinese sprinter Zhenye Xie claimed the gold medal with a time of 9.97 seconds.
Thailand’s Puripol Boonson (10.02) bagged the silver and Malaysian Muhammad Azeem Bin Mohd Fahmi (10.11) claimed the bronze.
Earlier in the day, Iranian woman sprinter Hamideh Esmaeilnezhad came seventh in the women’s 100m with a time of 11.54 seconds.
Manqi Ge of China won the gold medal with 11.23 and the silver and bronze medals went to Singapore’s Veronica Shanti Preira (11.27) and Bahrain’s Saad Saeed Saad Alkhaldi (11.35), respectively
A record high of nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories compete across 40 sports in the 2022 Asian Games.
Iran has sent 289 male and female athletes to the Games in 34 sports events.
