Iran’s Envoy to Assume Office in Riyadh
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s new ambassador to Saudi Arabia held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian ahead of his mission to Riyadh.
Alireza Enayati, the new ambassador of Iran to Saudi Arabia, met with the Iranian foreign minister on Saturday before leaving Tehran for Riyadh.
Enayati gave a report to Amirabdollahian about the plans for bilateral ties between the two Muslim states.
For his part, Amirabdollahian underlined the need to expand the policy of neighborliness.
He described the issue of bolstering ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia as important, given the opportunities for cooperation in bilateral and multilateral fields, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
Enayati previously served as Iran's deputy ambassador to Riyadh, Iran’s ambassador to Kuwait, an aide to the Iranian foreign minister, and the director general of the Foreign Ministry for the Persian Gulf affairs.
