Iran, China to Strengthen Long-Term Bilateral Relations
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi underlined Beijing’s willingness to enhance communication and coordination with Tehran to promote bilateral relations.
In a meeting with Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, held in Johannesburg on Monday, Wang emphasized China's commitment to implementing the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, according to Xinhua News Agency.
He stressed the importance of fostering steady and long-term development in bilateral relations.
Wang noted that China stands against any external interference in Iran's internal affairs, and the country will continue to support Iran in safeguarding its national sovereignty, dignity, and national security, while also pursuing a development path tailored to its national conditions.
Furthermore, Wang expressed China's willingness to strengthen synergy with Iran in implementing the China-Iran comprehensive cooperation plan and advancing Belt and Road cooperation. This includes offering assistance to Iran in improving the livelihood of its people and promoting economic and social development.
Ahmadian conveyed Iran's appreciation for the comprehensive strategic partnership with China. He expressed hope for tapping into the potential of cooperation and further deepening collaboration, particularly in fields like the Belt and Road Initiative, with the aim of benefiting both nations.
Ahmadian also acknowledged China's crucial role in facilitating reconciliation between Iran and Saudi Arabia and extended a warm welcome to China's ongoing positive contributions to regional peace.
