Iran Remains 3rd Largest Owner of World’s Oil Reserves: OPEC
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s proven oil reserves in 2022 stood at 208.6 billion barrels of oil and the country is still the third largest owner of the oil reserves in the world, the latest statistics of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) show.
Iran’s total crude oil reserves at the end of 2022 reached 208.6 billion barrels, OPEC stated, adding that Iran’s oil reserves in that year did not considerably change compared to a year earlier.
Iran’s oil reserves did not change from 2019 to 2022, OPEC said.
This is while Iran’s oil reserves in 2018 had been 155.6 billion barrels, and this rate increased 53 billion barrels in subsequent years.
According to this report, Iran ranked third in the world in 2021 in terms of oil reserves.
Venezuela is the largest owner of the oil reserves in the world with 303.221 billion barrels, showing a slump of 247 million barrels of oil compared to a year before.
