Oman Eyes Joint Venture with Iran: Industry Minister
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Welcoming Iranian high-quality products, the Sultanate of Oman called for joint investment with the Islamic Republic in trade and economic fields.
In a meeting of Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry & Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammad Al Yousef and Iranian Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Ali Rasoulian, the two sides explored avenues for enhancing cooperation in industrial fields.
Rasoulian submitted a comprehensive report on the industrial capabilities and potentials of the country, especially in industrial towns and areas.
He put the number of Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the country’s industrial towns at more than 51,000, saying they have generated new employment opportunities for over one million job-seeking people.
The Omani minister of commerce, industry and investment promotion, who has visited Iran at the head of a trade delegation comprising more than 60 industrialists, welcomed the idea of purchasing Iranian products including home- and electrical appliances, electronic products, tiles, ceramics, medicines, etc.
The visiting Omani trade and economic delegation voiced interest in broadening joint cooperation in trade and economic fields.
The chief executive of Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) said that Iran attaches great importance to Oman for the development of bilateral ties in trade and economic fields.
In addition to his meeting with senior officials of the country, the Omani minister of commerce participated in the inaugural ceremony of the Iran EXPO 2023 and also the Iran-Oman Joint Trade Forum.
