In an interview with Tasnim, Ali Najafi hailed the significant visit by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian to Oman.

Highlighting the growing relations between Iran and Oman, the ambassador said the volume of trade exchanges between the two neighbors during the past eight months has risen by 73 percent.

The value of trade exchanges between Iran and Oman is projected to hit $2 billion by March 20, 2023, the envoy noted, adding that such an extent of economic relations will be unprecedented.

Najafi explained that Iran and Oman have focused on four main areas of cooperation, including trade and investment, energy industry, transportation, and banking relations.

“Iran and Oman are expected to take new and important steps to elevate their brotherly relations,” he added.

The foreign minister of Iran, who arrived in Muscat on Tuesday night, had a meeting with Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to submit a written message from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.
