Iran to Raise Oil Output in Persian Gulf
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A new development project at an oilfield in the Persian Gulf is going to increase Iran’s daily oil production, an official said.
With the deployment of a drilling mast in the vicinity of the DP-R1 platform of ‘Resalat Oilfield’, located in Lavan region in south of Iran, a giant step has been taken to increase the country’s oil production in the oilfield.
According to the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC), the manager of Resalat Oilfield development project said the first phase of the development project was put atop agenda with the aim of increasing production of crude oil by 11,000 barrels.
Pooya Ma’arefi said the project includes a new wellhead platform, cabling, piping, repairing operation, updating R1 oil platform and drilling four new wells.
As the development of other phases of the giant project is making progress, a major part of the production objectives has been realized with the deployment of the drilling mast and carrying out the drilling operation of the two new wells, he added.
According to him, the construction operation of Resalat wellhead base started in Khorramshahr in March 2023.
