Iran Urges Political Resolution of Ukraine Crisis
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian reiterated the country’s stance on the necessity for political resolution of the Ukraine crisis.
In a telephone conversation with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmitry Kuleba, the Iranian top diplomat outlined the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stance and its opposition to war, underlining the need for finding a political solution to the crisis and for diplomatic dialogue.
He said Iran hopes the negotiations between the two warring sides will result in stability and peace.
The Iranian foreign minister also referred to the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness to dispatch a Red Crescent medical team to Ukraine, stressing the need for the full security of Iran’s diplomatic missions and its embassy in Kiev.
Dmitry Kuleba for his part congratulated the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan and thanked Iran for its opposition to war.
He said the Ukrainian government will do its utmost to protect the security of diplomatic missions in the country, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website reported.
Kuleba underscored that Ukraine wants a cessation of war and hostilities. The Ukrainian foreign minister welcomed the continuation of talks with his Iranian counterpart and expressed hope that bilateral ties will develop at different levels and in different areas.
