IPL: Esteghlal Cements Place at Top
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal football team beat Fajr Sepasi 1-0 thanks to a goal from Jafar Salmasi in the 54th minute on Wednesday.
The Blues cemented their place at top of the Iran Professional League (IPL) table in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium.
Persepolis was held to a 1-1 draw against Gol Gohar in Sirjan. Hamed Pakdel scored for the visiting team in the 13th minute and Brazilian forward Kiros Stanlley leveled the score in the 33rd minute.
Esteghglal leads the table with 47 points, five points ahead of Persepolis.
