Over 49 Million Doses of COVID Vaccine Injected in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry said on Friday that more than 49 million jabs of COVID-19 vaccines have been injected across the country.
New figures released by the Health Ministry of Iran indicate that more than 49 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Friday, as over 34 million people have received the first dose of the vaccine.
While more than 31.54 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 5,508,800 following the detection of 15,294 new cases since Thursday.
Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 2,161 patients have been admitted to the hospital.
At least 4,897,800 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.
The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 118,792, saying the disease has taken the lives of 284 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 6,502 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 231 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.74 million.
