Top Diplomats Discuss Enhancement of Iran-Vietnam Ties
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Vietnam weighed plans for the promotion of relations between the two Asian countries in various fields.
Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian and his Vietnamese counterpart Bui Thanh So held a meeting on the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday to discuss the ties between the two nations and review issues of mutual interest.
Amirabdollahian thanked Vietnam for its principled stance on the Islamic Republic at the UN.
He also voiced Iran's readiness to export Iranian-made vaccines to Vietnam to help improve the COVID situation in the country and to cooperate with Hanoi in the fields of industry, agriculture and tourism.
Amirabdollahian added that a joint economic commission is expected to be held as soon as possible, according to the Foreign Ministry’s website.
For his part, the Vietnamese foreign minister thanked Iran for its support for the Vietnamese candidates in international organizations.
He gave a report on the latest situation of the pandemic in his country and the problems that have arisen.
The Vietnamese foreign minister also welcomed cooperation with Iran in the fields of economy, investment, science and technology.
