TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Clashes erupted between police and students of Mireille-Grenet high school, in Compiegne in northern France, amid protests over “insufficient” health measures in schools during the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a video posted on social media, protesters can be seen vandalizing a police car as fires are burning outside the school. A firefighter was reportedly attacked and injured during the clashes.
Protests over keeping schools open during a lockdown have recently been taking place across France, according to Reuters, with teachers’ unions expected to hold a nationwide strike on Tuesday.
