Anti-Racism Activists Continue Protests over DC Statues (+Video)
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Protesters once again descended on Lincoln Park in Washington, DC, on Friday to demand the removal of an Emancipation Statue depicting former US President Abraham Lincoln standing over a kneeling, recently freed black slave.
An alleged supporter of US President Donald Trump was chased out of the park at one point and police had to intervene to take the man away from angry protesters.
Elsewhere, Black Lives Matter (BLM) protesters marched on the White House for another night of anti-racism rallies.
Protests have been ongoing in the United States and around the world following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis on May 25.
