Protests across US Denounce Assassination of Iranian General in Iraq

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Over 40 demonstrations were planned across the United States Saturday to protest Washington’s assassination of Iranian commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, in Iraq.

The demonstrators will also protest the Trump administration's decision to send about 3,000 more soldiers to the Middle East.

The protests are being spearheaded by Act Now to Stop War and End Racism (ANSWER), a US-based anti-war coalition, in conjunction with more than a dozen organizations. Demonstrations were expected to protest outside the White House, in New York City's Times Square and more, USA Today reported.

Another international protest is expected at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate.

Organizers could not say how many people were expected to attend the protests, but Facebook events suggest that hundreds of people planned to participate.

Meantime, millions of people in Iran, Iraq and also different world countries protested on Friday and Saturday against the US airstrike in the nation's capital, after assassination of Iranian commander.
