Iranian VP Meets Russian President in Moscow

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Affairs Sorena Sattari and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in the Russian capital of Moscow on Tuesday.

The two held talks on the sidelines of the ongoing International Aviation and Space Show (MAKS-2015). After the meeting, Putin and Sattari toured the exhibition.

 Sattari also held a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister for Defense Affairs Dmitry Rogozin and Industry Minister Denis Manturov on Tuesday morning.

At the meeting with Manturov, the Iranian official highlighted the significance of closer cooperation between Iran and Russia, adding that the two states enjoy abundant potentials for cooperation.

Sattari, who arrived in Moscow on Monday heading a delegation, noted that the two sides will ink 10 cooperation agreements during his stay in the Russian capital.

Also at the meeting, Manturov said the two countries favor all-out development of ties, especially in aviation industries and industrial centers.

He said Russian industries plan to hold an exclusive exhibition in the Iranian capital of Tehran, and invited Iranian investors to participate in Russia’s economic undertakings.

Sattari is also slated to attend the first meeting of Iran-Russia Joint Science and Technology Cooperation Committee on Wednesday. Dmitry Rogozin will also attend the meeting.

International aerospace show MAKS-2015 opened on Tuesday on the airdrome of the Mikhail Gromov Flight Research Institute in the town of Zhukovsky to the southeast of Moscow. It will continue through August 30.

Organizers of the show expect a greater number of participants and visitors than the one reported at MAKS-2013, according to TASS news agency.

MAKS-2015 is playing host to 150 companies from 23 foreign countries and over 580 companies from various regions of Russia.
