Final Deal on Iran’s N. Issue to Benefit All Sides: FM

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Reaching an ultimate agreement on Iran’s peaceful nuclear program will definitely serve the interests of both Iran and the other negotiating parties, Iran’s foreign minister stated.

“We believe that continuation of the process of the ongoing talks and reaching the final agreement is a heavy and collective responsibility,” Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Sunday, adding that a comprehensive deal on Tehran’s nuclear program will serve the interests of both Iran and the Group 5+1 (the five permanent UN Security Council members plus Germany).

He made the comments in a meeting with New Zealand Deputy Secretary of Foreign Affairs for the Multilateral and Legal Group Gerard van Bohemen, here in Tehran.

Zarif once again voiced Iran’s strong opposition to the nuclear weapons, saying they have no place in the country’s defense doctrine.

The minister underlined that Tehran will continue efforts to uphold its legitimate right to enjoy nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

The New Zealand diplomat, for his part, voiced Wellington’s support for Tehran’s peaceful nuclear activities under the international norms and within the framework of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Iran and the six major world powers (also known as the E3+3 or P5+1) are slated to hold a new round of high-profile talks, in the presence of their political directors in Vienna on April 7, in order to draw up a comprehensive nuclear deal which will lead to a lifting of the whole sanctions on Iran.
