Araqchi: Iran Reserves Right to Respond to EU3’s Snapback Push

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned that Iran reserves the right to take appropriate measures in response to the European troika’s initiation of the snapback mechanism, stressing that the move undermines Europe’s credibility and casts serious doubt on its true intentions.

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Hungary, Araqchi held a telephone conversation with his Hungarian counterpart, Peter Szijjarto on Friday.

The two ministers celebrated a century of rich and friendly relations between the two nations and emphasized the importance of continuing and strengthening the bilateral ties across multiple fields.

Szijjarto congratulated Iran on the centenary of bilateral diplomatic relations and highlighted Hungary’s commitment to expanding comprehensive cooperation with Tehran.

Araqchi, in turn, stressed Iran’s determination to maintain and develop relations with all countries based on mutual respect and shared interests, noting the significant potential for growth in Iran-Hungary ties.

The two sides also exchanged views on the regional issues and the international developments.

During the conversation, Araqchi strongly warned of the consequences of the European troika’s actions, describing their initiation of the snapback mechanism as illegal, unjustified, and irresponsible.

He emphasized that Iran has the right to take appropriate measures in response and underlined that the EU3’s move has severely undermined Europe’s credibility as a negotiating partner, while raising serious doubts about the true intentions of these countries.
