Iran Must Prepare As New War Not Unlikely, General Warns
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Iranian military adviser emphasized that the nation must prepare for war and strengthen its capabilities, warning that current regional tensions could escalate at any moment.
Major General Seyed Rahim Safavi, a senior adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, stressed that Iran is effectively in a state of war, with the situation capable of collapsing at any moment.
Referring to the rising possibility of a new war, Safavi said, “I prefer to say that a new war may be ahead, and perhaps afterward, no further war will occur.”
He reiterated that Washington and Tel Aviv hold that peace must be built through force, making it necessary for Iran to reach a high level of power.
Rahim Safavi said the military prepares for worst-case scenarios, designing strategies and maintaining readiness for any eventuality.
He added that current conditions do not signify a ceasefire. “We are in a stage of war, and this (current) situation may collapse at any moment.”
He also said that there are no protocols or agreements between Iran and either the Zionist regime or the United States.
He stressed the need to strengthen Iran’s capabilities, including in the fields of offensive strategy, diplomacy, media, cyberspace, missile power, and drones.
“We the military personnel have reached the belief that anyone seeking peace must be prepared for war, and the best method of defense is offense,” he concluded.
