Yemeni Resistance Vows Response after Israeli Attacks on Red Sea Ports
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Israeli regime escalated its regional acts of aggression by targeting key ports and civilian infrastructure in Yemen, provoking renewed missile strikes by the Yemeni resistance in solidarity with Palestinians under occupation.
Israel’s military late Sunday bombed the ports of Hudaydah, Ras-Isa, and as-Salif, along with the Ras Kathib power plant in Yemen’s Red Sea coastal region.
The assault came after Israeli forces claimed to have intercepted a missile allegedly launched by Yemen earlier in the day.
Following the bombardment, Yemeni resistance forces fired additional missiles towards occupied territories in Palestine early Monday.
Sirens were activated in Al-Quds, Al-Khalil (Hebron), and areas near the Dead Sea, although Israeli authorities claimed no casualties or damage inflicted.
Yemeni forces declared the attacks a justified response to Israel’s brutal war crimes against Gaza.
Since 2023, the Yemeni movement has launched hundreds of missiles at Israel and targeted over 100 vessels in the Red Sea to disrupt Israeli-linked shipping.
A brief pause in their operations followed the January ceasefire between Hamas and Tel Aviv, but the attack resumed after the Israeli regime broke the ceasefire which subsequently lead to American air raids on Yemen, which killed nearly 300 civilians.
Yemeni spokesman Ameen Hayyan stated that the country’s air defenses forced many Israeli warplanes to retreat in disarray.
He said locally produced surface-to-air missiles caused “great confusion among enemy pilots and their command centers.”
Al Masirah TV confirmed that Israeli strikes hit civilian port infrastructure in Hudaydah.
Saba news agency also reported attacks on all three ports and the power station.
The Yemenis stressed they had not sustained significant losses and declared readiness to target Israel again if aggression continues.
Separately, Israeli forces attacked southern Lebanon, claiming to strike Hezbollah positions in the Bekaa region.
Israel provided no evidence for its allegations that Hezbollah violated the November ceasefire agreement.
Over the past year, the illegitimate Israeli regime, emboldened by unwavering American backing, has unleashed a wave of aggression across Gaza, the occupied West Bank, Syria, Iran, and Yemen, exposing its true nature as a destabilizing occupier addicted to perpetual war.
