Pakistan Admired for Siding with Iran amid Israeli War
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces commended Pakistan for supporting Iran against the Zionist regime’s war of aggression.
In a telephone conversation with Chief of the Army Staff of Pakistan’s Army Field Marshal Asim Munir on Sunday, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi praised the Pakistani government and nation’s courageous stances and supports for Iran against the cruel and terrorist war of aggression waged by the Israeli regime and the US.
The top Iranian commander condemned the unwavering American support for the Zionist regime in the war on Iran, saying the US also employed all capacities to protect the Israeli regime against Iran’s retaliatory missile and drone strikes.
“In addition to the US, a number of other Western countries also gave verbal and practical support to the (Israeli) enemy,” he added.
Despite the damages that Iran sustained and the loss of major Iranian commanders at the beginning of the war, the Islamic Republic frustrated the enemy’s plans and forced it to demand a ceasefire, Major General Mousavi stated.
While the Zionist regime waged a war of aggression against Iran on June 13 and struck Iran’s military, nuclear and residential areas for 12 days, the US stepped in and conducted military attacks on three nuclear sites in Iran’s Natanz, Fordow and Isfahan on June 22.
The Iranian military forces conducted powerful counterattacks immediately after the aggression. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as part of Operation True Promise III that inflicted heavy losses on cities across the occupied territories.
Also, in response to the US attacks, Iranian armed forces launched a wave of missiles at al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American military base in West Asia.
A ceasefire that came into force on June 24 brought the fighting to a halt.
