President Vows Iran’s Decisive Response to Aggression
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran has not started the war, nor is it interested in its continuation, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said, but warned that Tehran will be giving decisive responses to the Israeli regime if its acts of aggression go on.
In a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart on Saturday night, Pezeshkian said the Zionist regime is making significant efforts to incite tensions between Iran and its regional allies.
He expressed confidence that the Israeli attempts are doomed to failure.
Pezeshkian said the Zionist regime’s aggression began while Iran was engaged in indirect negotiations with the US aimed at resolving outstanding issues through dialogue.
“We did not initiate this conflict, nor do we wish to prolong it. However, if the aggression persists, we will respond decisively,” the president stated, his official website reported.
Pezeshkian lashed out at the Zionist regime for acting with US approval and making concerted efforts to sow discord among Iran and its regional counterparts. He assured the Egyptian president and other regional leaders that the Zionists will not succeed in pitting the Muslim nations against each other.
The Zionist regime waged an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on June 13. It has carried out airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear, military and residential sites that resulted in the martyrdom of over 400 Iranians, including top military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary citizens.
The Iranian military forces started counterattacks immediately afterwards. They Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force has carried out 20 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as of June 22 as part of Operation True Promise III.
