Iran Condemns US, Israeli Attacks on Nuclear Facilities as International Crime

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) strongly condemned the joint US-Israeli military strikes on its nuclear sites, denouncing them as a clear violation of international law and a reckless provocation that will not go unanswered.

In a statement released following the US aggression against Iran’s nuclear infrastructures, the AEOI revealed that the country’s peaceful nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan were targeted at dawn in a “barbaric and illegal act,” in flagrant breach of the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

“The American enemy, through a statement by its president in social media, has officially claimed responsibility for the attacks on these sites, which are under continuous monitoring by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) based on the safeguards agreement and the NPT,” the statement read.

The organization denounced the passive stance of the IAEA, which is not only ignoring the violations but, through its silence, enabling such aggressive behavior.

“It is unfortunate that this action—clearly against international law—has taken place with the indifference and, in some cases, complicity of the International Atomic Energy Agency,” the AEOI added.

The statement called on the global community to denounce “lawless jungle behavior” by the US and to stand by Iran in defending its legitimate rights.

“The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran assures the noble Iranian nation that, despite the enemies’ evil conspiracies, it will not allow the peaceful development of this national industry—born from the blood of nuclear martyrs—to be derailed,” the statement emphasized.

Legal action to pursue the matter through international mechanisms has been initiated, according to the AEOI.

Manan Raeisi, a lawmaker representing the city of Qom in the Iranian Parliament, told Tasnim News that the attack caused only surface-level damage at Fordow. “Despite the lies of America’s deceitful president, critical infrastructure remains intact. What was hit was mostly on the ground and fully restorable,” he stated.

He emphasized that no radioactive leaks were reported, and the site had been preemptively secured. “Trump’s bluff about destroying Fordow is laughable.”

Raeisi added, “We view this strike as a direct American entry into war. Iran now decides how and when to retaliate.”

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump, who orchestrated the attacks in coordination with the Zionist regime, warned Iran against responding, while simultaneously threatening even harsher retaliation.

This comes despite repeated warnings from Iran’s political and military leadership that any act of aggression would trigger a firm and painful response.
