Sponsors of Israel Accountable for Spread of War, Iran Warns EU3

Araqchi held a joint telephone conversation with his French, British and German counterparts as well as the EU foreign policy chief on Monday night to discuss the latest developments related to the Zionist regime’s war-mongering.

Araqchi pointed to the blatant aggression by the Zionist regime against Iran, including the attacks on peaceful nuclear facilities, economic infrastructures, military bases, and residential areas.

He underlined the duty of every UN Member State and the UN Security Council to confront this aggression and stop the Zionist regime’s crimes, the Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

Araqchi described Israel’s attacks on Iran amid the nuclear negotiations as an unprecedented blow to diplomacy and urged the European countries to acknowledge the reality and condemn the Zionist regime’s aggression.

He stressed that Iran’s legitimate self-defense will continue robustly, warning that the Zionist regime and its supporters and apologists will be responsible for any escalation of the conflict.

There is no doubt that Israel, with the backing and cooperation of the US, has launched this war against the Iranian people, the foreign minister said, holding the US responsible for the status quo and described it as an accomplice in the Zionist regime’s crimes.

Araqchi also underlined Iran’s seriousness in diplomacy, noting that while the Islamic Republic has never walked away from the negotiating table, its focus at present is on the effective and deterrent confrontation with the Israeli aggression.

The European troika ministers and the EU foreign policy chief expressed regret over the current situation and offered condolences over civilian casualties caused by the Zionist regime’s attacks.

They also underscored the importance of diplomacy to reduce tensions and declared readiness to play a role in this regard.
