Children Killed As Israeli Strikes Hit Gaza during Eid
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli airstrikes killed at least 23 Palestinians, including children, and wounded about 70 others across the Gaza Strip on the third day of Eid al-Adha, according to Palestinian health authorities.
The Israeli military continued its offensive across Gaza on Tuesday, striking several areas as Palestinians marked one of the holiest days in the Islamic calendar.
Eight people were killed in an airstrike that hit a house in Jabalia, in northern Gaza, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.
In Khan Younis, Israeli strikes targeted homes and tents sheltering displaced families, killing 10 people, including children, according to Al-Aqsa Radio.
Four more Palestinians were killed and around 70 injured in Rafah, in southern Gaza, near an aid distribution site, WAFA said.
Another person was reported killed in the central Gaza Strip, near the Netzarim Corridor, also close to an aid site, the Palestinian broadcaster added.
Witnesses said Israeli forces continued demolishing homes and buildings in Jabalia and in eastern parts of Gaza City.
This marks the fourth Eid al-Adha Gazans have spent under Israeli bombardment since October 2023, when Israel launched its military campaign.
Since then, nearly 54,800 Palestinians have been killed, according to Gaza’s health ministry, and large areas of the enclave have been left in ruins.
Humanitarian agencies have repeatedly warned of famine conditions and widespread displacement in the territory.
