Iran-US Talks Held in Professional Atmosphere: Spokesman
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said the fifth round of indirect negotiations with the US was held in Rome in a calm and professional atmosphere.
“The 5th round of indirect talks between Iran and the US concluded in Rome. In this round, Iran’s principled positions were once again clearly and explicitly outlined,” Esmaeil Baqaei said in a post on his X account on Friday night.
“The negotiations were held in a calm and professional atmosphere,” he added.
“The Omani foreign minister had previously proposed solutions and ideas to overcome obstacles, the main points and frameworks of which were reviewed at this session,” the Iranian spokesman said.
“It was agreed that, alongside further examination in the respective capitals, the Omani foreign minister would continue working on the details of the proposed ideas and provide them to both sides for further discussion,” Baqaei explained.
“The time and location of the next round of negotiations will be set and announced later,” he stated.
Iran and the US have held five rounds of talks since April 12, mediated by Oman, with the purpose of reaching a deal on Iran’s nuclear program and the removal of sanctions on Tehran.
