Negotiation on Iran’s Enrichment Right Out of Question: FM
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s right to enrich uranium at home is not even subject to negotiations, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi underlined.
Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Tuesday, Araqchi denounced the US’ contradictory stances on the indirect negotiations with Iran.
“What we are witnessing now are unconventional and illogical stances adopted by the Americans during the past recent days and them being made public, which received our swift response,” the foreign minister said.
Araqchi reiterated that the issue of enrichment in Iran is not even subject to negotiations, adding that he has already given a straightforward response.
Echoing the remarks made by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei on Tuesday, Araqchi stressed that the Islamic Republic will by no means back off from upholding the Iranian people’s rights.
Ayatollah Khamenei made it clear on Tuesday that Iran will not seek permission from anybody for uranium enrichment, advising the US negotiators engaged in indirect talks with Iran to avoid making absurd comments.
The Leader denounced as “utter nonsense” the American notion that the US won’t allow Iran to enrich uranium.
