Iran’s Air Defense Has Improved Dramatically,Top General Says
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s highest-ranking military commander highlighted the significant progress that has been made in improving the air defense capabilities during the past year, warning the enemies that any act of aggression will cost them dearly.
In comments after a high-profile meeting of the air defense units on Monday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said the country’s air defense capabilities and preparedness have improved greatly.
He noted that certain sections of the Air Defense units have experienced a fivefold increase compared with last year in the number of radars, monitoring systems, and detection equipment used for tracking the hostile moves.
The Air Defense capabilities in the fire control systems, interception, and detonation of intruding aerial targets have improved by two to three times in some cases, the general stated.
He added that Iran’s airspace is being monitored constantly and the Armed Forces are a hundred percent prepared.
The volume of investment in the fortification of Iran’s Air Defense has risen by several times, he noted.
Major General Baqeri warned the enemies that any violation of Iran’s airspace will inflict significant harms on them and expose them to the costs that are definitely much higher than the results they may expect.
