Iran Seeks Role in UN Peacekeeping Missions
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Foreign Ministry of Iran expressed the country’s readiness to participate in the United Nations’ peacekeeping missions.
In comments at a presser in Tehran on Monday, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said Iran has expressed its preparedness during a high-profile meeting in Berlin to take part in the UN peacekeeping missions.
He noted that Iran has been working in cooperation with the UN and voiced readiness for participation in its programs.
“It indicates Iran’s approach to protecting peace in the conflict zones,” the spokesman stated.
Since the peacekeeping forces include military personnel, the details of Iran’s partnership with the UN should be announced by the spokesperson for the Iranian Armed Forces, Baqaei added.
