Iran Strongly Condemns Israeli Savage Attacks on Gaza Refugee Camps

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran condemned Israel’s savage airstrikes on Palestinian refugee camps in the Gaza Strip as a violation of international law, calling for immediate international intervention.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei denounced the Israeli attacks as “savage” and said they resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of civilians, including infants.

Baqaei described the strikes as a blatant breach of fundamental principles and rules of international law.

He stated that the United Nations and its member states bear a moral responsibility to stop the Israeli genocide and ensure adherence to humanitarian law.

The spokesman urged swift legal action through the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court against Israel and its officials for Israeli war crimes, genocide, and crimes against humanity.

He also called on the global community and regional powers to take effective steps to halt Israeli attacks against civilians, send humanitarian aid, and hold Israeli leaders accountable.

Baqaei emphasized the need to withdraw Israeli forces from Gaza and counter the Zionist regime’s evil deeds across the regional countries, including in Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.

Israel began its genocidal campaign in Gaza on October 7, 2023, following a Hamas attack known as the Al-Aqsa Flood operation, which was in retaliation for Israeli atrocities toward Palestinians.

Despite initial objections, Israel accepted Hamas’s long-standing terms for a ceasefire on January 19.

Two months later, Israel resumed its brutal war after unilaterally ending the truce.

Alongside renewed strikes, Israel intensified its blockade of Gaza, halting deliveries of food and medical supplies to the territory’s 2.3 million residents.

Since early March, the blockade has prevented the entry of medicine, collapsing Gaza’s healthcare system.

Humanitarian groups have warned that aid restrictions are forcing charity kitchens—the last food source for many—to close, with more shutdowns expected.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the death toll since October 2023 stands at 52,862, most of them women and children.
