Iran’s Military at Full Readiness, Top General Says, Warns of Harsh Response to Threats
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran's Armed Forces are at the peak of their operational and combat readiness, the country’s top military official said on Monday afternoon, warning the enemies that any misstep against the Islamic Republic would provoke a forceful and unpredictable response.
Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said the country's Army and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) naval units were fully prepared to counter any hostile action.
He made the remarks during an inspection visit to Army and IRGC naval forces stationed along the Persian Gulf and near the northern entrance of the Strait of Hormuz.
Senior military officials including Iranian Army Chief Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi and IRGC Commander Major General Hossein Salami were also present.
“We are in our best form in terms of combat capability and readiness,” Baqeri said.
“Thank God, our Armed Forces are in the best situation regarding intelligence collection, operational planning, and readiness to implement scenarios.”
He warned potential adversaries against posing threats against the Islamic Republic establishment.
“You may initiate a conflict with the Islamic Republic based on a miscalculation, but the ending, manner, timing, location and developments on the battleground will not be within your control. It will be the Islamic Republic of Iran that will determine them,” he said.
Baqeri added that all operational plans had been reviewed and verified during his visit.
He said Iran's forces were in optimal condition in terms of training, maneuver execution, and psychological and operational preparedness.
“In case the enemies make a mistake, or intend to take action against the establishment and the sacred waters and soil of the Islamic Republic of Iran, our Armed Forces have the ability and readiness to confront them,” he said.
