Foreign Ministers Weigh Plans to Broaden Iran-Saudi Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia discussed ways to promote cooperation between the two countries in all fields.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan met in Jeddah on Saturday.

The two senior diplomats reviewed the state of bilateral relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia, the Iranian Foreign Ministry’s website reported.

They also stressed the determination of the two countries to advance the shared goal of the leaders to expand relations in all areas.

The top Iranian diplomat underscored the necessity for the Muslim world to confront the threats and challenges, particularly concerning the occupied Palestine, halting the ongoing genocide there, and preventing the colonial scheme to erase Palestine.

He also briefed the Saudi foreign minister on the latest developments regarding the indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States.

Araqchi is going to hold a new round of indirect talks with the representative of the US president in Oman on Sunday.
