Iran Welcomes Oman’s Statement on Halt to US Attacks on Yemen
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry welcomed a statement released by the Sultanate of Oman on a ceasefire agreement between the US and Yemen.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei on Wednesday welcomed the statement from the Foreign Ministry of Sultanate of Oman about the developments in Yemen and the cessation of the US acts of aggression against that country.
He also praised the Omani government for its efforts in that regard.
Lauding the great Yemeni nation’s steadfastness in supporting the oppressed people of Palestine against genocide and occupation and hailing Yemen’s perseverance against the recurrent American acts of aggression during the past year, Baqaei said regional nations will never forget the Yemeni people’s epic resistance against foreign aggression.
Regardless of the announcement of a halt to the US attacks on Yemen, the US government is undoubtedly complicit in the crimes the Zionist regime has committed against Yemeni people, he added.
The Iranian spokesman also called on the international community to take an immediate and effective measure to put an end to the Israeli regime’s strikes on the civilian infrastructures of Yemen and the massacre of innocent people.
A spokesman at the Foreign Ministry of Oman said on Tuesday that following recent discussions and contacts conducted by the Sultanate of Oman with the US and the relevant authorities in Sana'a, in the Republic of Yemen, with the aim of de-escalation, efforts have resulted in a ceasefire agreement between the two sides.
