National Unity Administration’s Top Priority: Iranian President
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Describing national unity as his administration’s overriding priority, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stressed the need to avoid any measure that may be abused by the enemies or bring the Islamic Revolution into question.
Addressing a session of the 6th term of the Assembly of Experts in Qom on Monday, Pezeshkian highlighted his commitment to fostering national consensus since the outset of his presidential campaign.
He noted that Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has identified unity and cohesion as essential first steps.
Pezeshkian referred to the Leader's remarks during a meeting with officials involved in the arrangement of the Hajj pilgrimage, where he emphasized that Muslims from around the world unite at the Kaaba, demonstrating their solidarity.
Pezeshkian stated that the Leader’s perspective is the final authority on all matters, and his administration strives to align its decisions and actions with the Leader's views, the president’s official website reported.
The president also stressed the necessity of maintaining social cohesion, warning that officials must avoid any decisions or actions that could jeopardize national unity, which adversaries actively seek to undermine. He specifically mentioned the US, the Zionist regime, and certain intelligence agencies that capitalize on domestic divisions in Iran.
He also affirmed the administration's commitment to justice in education, healthcare, and livelihoods as its top priorities.
In terms of foreign policy, the president said the administration aims to strengthen relationships with the neighboring countries, including Iraq, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan Republic, and others.
