Spokesman Condemns Trump’s Threat to Bomb Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei hit back at the US president for threatening Iran with bombings, saying such shocking comments jeopardize international security and violate the UN Charter.

“An open threat of «bombing» by a Head of State against Iran is a shocking _affront_ to the very essence of International Peace and Security,” Baqaei said in a post on his X account on Monday.

“It violates the United Nations Charter and betrays the Safeguards under the IAEA,” he added.

“Violence breeds violence, peace begets peace. The US can choose the course...; and concede to CONSEQUENCES…” the Iranian spokesman stated.

His message came after US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with bombings and secondary tariffs if Tehran does not come to an agreement with his administration about its nuclear program.

“If they don’t make a deal, there will be bombing,” Trump said during a phone call with NBC News’ Kristen Welker on Sunday.
