Defense Minister Denies Report on Breach of Iran’s Airspace by Israeli Jets

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh rejected media reports that Israeli warplanes violated Iran’s airspace during a recent military attack.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, General Nasirzadeh denied rumors that Israeli fighter jets entered Iranian airspace on October 26.

“According to the United Nations Charter, whenever the airspace of a country is violated, that country will be entitled to respond to the violation and act of aggression,” the defense minister added.

He also dismissed the reports claiming that a military site in Iran’s northern city of Shahrud has been damaged in the Israeli regime’s recent strike in an operation allegedly carried out from Iran’s northern borders.

The minister said the enemy tried to damage Iran’s offense and defense systems, but could not inflict serious harm as Iran had made the civil defense arrangements in advance.

He noted that one of the Iranian air defense systems was replaced the day after the Israeli attack, stressing, “There has been no disruption to the process of production of our offense systems, such as missiles.”

The minister underlined that Iran would respond even to a single bullet being shot at its deserts, let alone to the latest Israeli act of aggression.

“We deem it unforgivable and there will be a response to it,” he warned the Zionist regime.

According to the Iranian Army, four of its combatants were martyred during the confrontation with the projectiles fired by the criminal Zionist regime in the early hours of October 26.

In remarks on Sunday, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei emphasized the necessity of disrupting the flawed calculations of the Zionist regime regarding Iran.

"They’re making a miscalculation with respect to Iran… our officials should be the ones to assess and precisely apprehend what needs to be done and do whatever is in the best interests of this country and nation. They (the enemy) must be made to realize who the Iranian people are and what the Iranian youth are like," the Leader added.
