Israeli Airstrikes Hit Tents Sheltering Displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis, Deir el-Balah

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Israeli airstrikes targeted shelters for displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis and Deir el-Balah, killing multiple civilians, as the conflict in Gaza continues to escalate.

The Israeli military conducted overnight airstrikes across Gaza, including attacks on tents housing displaced Palestinians in Khan Younis and Deir el-Balah, resulting in several deaths, according to reports from local media.

In southern Gaza’s Khan Younis, Israeli fighter jets bombed makeshift shelters, killing and wounding many, the Wafa news agency reported.

Al Mayadeen news agency confirmed that “numerous” casualties occurred during the attack.

Additionally, a residential house in the Sheikh Nasser area of Khan Younis was struck, leaving a number of civilians dead, Wafa added.

Reports from the Quds News Network and the Palestine Information Center confirmed at least three fatalities, including a woman and children, following the strike on the al-Farra family home.

The Israeli military later claimed responsibility, stating that a “precise” strike had targeted “terrorists... engaged in terrorist activity in the humanitarian area of Khan Younis.”

However, it remains unclear if this statement pertains to the same incidents reported earlier.

Meanwhile, another airstrike hit a tent shelter in Deir el-Balah, located in central Gaza, killing at least two people, according to the Quds News Network and the Palestinian Information Center.

Since the outbreak of the Israeli war on October 7, Palestinian health officials report that at least 43,061 people have been killed and 101,223 injured in Gaza.
