Israelis Demolish House in West Bank Town, Kill One

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - A body was discovered beneath the rubble after the Israeli military demolished a besieged house in the town of Deir al-Ghusun, north of Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank.

According to the Wafa news agency, Israeli forces obstructed an ambulance attempting to reach the individual.

Israeli forces had previously encircled the structure, urging its occupants -accused of involvement in a November shooting in Beit Lid- to surrender. When met with resistance, Israeli forces resorted to firing antitank rocket-propelled grenades before ultimately demolishing the structure, although the occupants were trapped inside.

In a separate development, Israeli forces detained five individuals in the village of Sebastia, situated northwest of the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, as reported by the Wafa news agency.

Mohammad Azem, the mayor of Sebastia, said the Israeli troops conducted a dawn raid, raiding several residences. He added that those detained were subjected to physical assault prior to being apprehended.

The escalation of raids in the occupied West Bank has coincided with the onset of the Israeli war in Gaza on October 7, resulting in the detention or arrest of over 7,000 Palestinians in the region.
