Iran Downs Belarus in 2024 Beach Soccer World Cup Third-Place Match
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated Belarus 6-1 in Dubai's Main Stadium to finish in third place in the 2024 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup on Sunday.
For Team Melli, Ali Mirshekari, Movahed Mohammadpour, Mohammad Moradi, Reza Amiri, Mohammad Masoumi and Mohammad Ali Mokhtari scored and Mikita Chaikouski scored a consolation goal for Belarus.
The Persians had claimed a bronze medal in 2017, when they defeated Italy 5-3 in the Bahamas.
Brazil beat Italy in the final match later in the day.
The next edition will be held in Seychelles in May 2025.
