Tehran, Damascus Stress Pursuing Trade-Economic Agreements to Strengthen Mutual Ties

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – An official at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) called for following up on the implementation of the trade-economic agreements signed between Tehran and Damascus.

In a meeting with Syrian Ambassador to Iran Adnan Hassan Mahmoud, Director General of West Asia Office of the TPOI Abdolamir Rabihavi emphasized pursuing the trade-economic agreements inked between the two sides, reviving the bilateral exhibition activities, and dispatching and admitting trade-economic delegations in line with the implementation of the trade agreements.

Rabihavi invited the Syrian envoy to participate in a conference on “Rebuilding Syria, Existing Opportunities and Share of Iranian Companies”, slated to be held at the venue of the organization on March 3, 2024, IRNA reported.

He also pointed to the reviewing of the trade statistics between the two countries and emphasized removing the trade barriers facing the economic activists of the tw sides.

The Syrian envoy to Tehran, for his part, stressed the serious determination of high-ranking officials of his country to expand the trade-economic cooperation with Iran and noted that Damascus will make its utmost efforts in line with settling the problems facing bilateral trade. 

Hassan Mahmoud pointed out that Syria attaches great importance to its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
